first time to class?
we’re so excited your’re here!
1. Arrive a Few Minutes Early
Aim to get to the studio 10-15 minutes before the class starts. This gives you time to check in, meet the instructor, and get familiar with the space and equipment.
2. Bring Essentials
Wear comfortable workout clothes and bring tennis shoes and a water bottle to stay hydrated. We provide all necessary equipment.
3. Meet Your Instructor
Our instructors are here to help! Take a moment to introduce yourself and let them know it’s your first time. They’ll be happy to give you extra guidance and answer any questions about the class format.
5. Expect a Welcoming Environment
Ascension Studio is all about community and support, so you’ll find everyone—from staff to fellow participants—encouraging and friendly. Everyone started somewhere, so feel free to go at your own pace and enjoy the experience!
6. Ask Questions and Enjoy the Journey
Don’t hesitate to ask questions before, during, or after class. Your instructor can offer modifications if you need them, so you feel safe and confident. Remember, the goal is progress, not perfection!
7. **Group45 ONLY
Choose a mat, grab some weights and/or bands and get situated before class. There will be headphones at your mats - yes it’s a silent disco! You can then personally control the headphones volume to your liking. Optional: You can wear socks, tennis shoes or be barefoot in class.

Progressive overload is all about gently challenging your body to do just a little bit more each time you work out. It’s a way to build strength, endurance, and fitness gradually without overwhelming yourself.
Think of it like this:
Adding a Little Extra Weight: Over time, we might add a few extra pounds to the weights you lift, so your muscles get stronger and more resilient.
Doing a Few More Reps or Sets: Maybe you’ll aim for one or two more repetitions of an exercise each week, or add an extra set, which keeps things challenging without jumping too far ahead.
Slowing Down the Pace: Sometimes, we’ll decrease the tempo a bit, helping your body adapt and your stamina grow.
Shorter Rest Breaks: Occasionally, we’ll reduce your rest time between exercises, keeping your heart rate up and building endurance.
The idea is to keep your body moving forward at a pace that feels right for you. Instead of staying in your comfort zone, progressive overload nudges you to grow stronger and fitter, step by step, so you can keep seeing results and feeling accomplished!
